Bonjour! It is with great pleasure that we invite you to take part in the 9th IAS Conference on HIV Science (IAS 2017) on 23-26 July 2017 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, France. This biennial gathering is the largest open scientific conference on HIV and AIDS related issues – bringing together a broad cross-section of more than 6,000 professionals from around the world to meet and examine the latest scientific developments in HIV-related research with a focus on moving science into practice and policy.
Not only is it our great pleasure to bring you a conference in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but hosting IAS 2017 in Paris has important significance: the city has a long and impressive history in demonstrating leadership in HIV science. This is the fourth time that Paris will host a major international HIV and AIDS Conference, further demonstrating France’s leadership and commitment to science research and optimizing HIV care and prevention. Each one has been memorable and a significant milestone in the history of the epidemic.
Over the months ahead, we will be developing the IAS 2017 programme and we anticipate an exciting programme reflective of the dynamic and growing diverse fields of HIV basic, clinical, social and implementation science.
At IAS 2017, we expect to highlight major advancements in understanding the intricate network of viral-host interactions, in better characterizing and targeting the HIV reservoir, and ways to tackle persistent HIV, as well as the interaction and synergies with other fields, such as cancer research and immune-based therapies. In addition, we are anticipating new science on preventive and therapeutic vaccinations, and on improved tools and strategies for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), as well as new insights into the novel areas of personalized medicine and biomarkers.
Organized by the International AIDS Society (IAS) in partnership with the ANRS (France Recherche Nord & Sud Sida-HIV Hépatites), IAS 2017 will serve as the platform to showcase the key research of the year. The conference will offer interactive workshops, networking opportunities with leading researchers, and forums to share best practices and more. As well as … opportunities to see and visit this beautiful city!
We invite you to get involved. Submit your abstracts and register to attend IAS 2017 starting on World AIDS Day, 1 December 2016.
We look forward to your participation and welcoming you to Paris. A bientôt!
Sincerely,
Linda-Gail Bekker IAS 2017 International Chair President, International AIDS Society Professor and Deputy Director, Desmond Tutu HIV Centre, Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine, University of Cape Town |
