Due to the volcanic eruption on a nearby island, the Bali airport has been closed for most of the last 3 days with no certainty that it will reopen soon. The volcanic ash poses a risk to both flight scheduling and health. Following an emergency meeting with the national steering committee and the events management company, Royalindo, we have chosen to postpone the 2015 International Conference on Family Planning in Nusa Dua, Indonesia. We have chosen to make this decision today to minimize inconvenience for those who have not yet begun their journey.
This is a disappointment for the many who have worked to plan this event and all of those who had planned to participate in the conference.
The conference organizers will be scheduling a meeting with the national and international steering committees to decide on the next steps. We will let all participants know once a new date has been chosen and location confirmed.
More details to follow.
