The HIV League

The HIV League, according to its website, “is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empower the HIV community through scholarship, wellness, and education.”

Founder and CEO Daniel Szymczyk, an advocate who lives with HIV, also works for the Center for HIV Educational Studies and Training (CHEST) and SoulCycle.

One of their major efforts is their scholarship program, which will be awarded for the 2017-2018 school year. Applications will be open November 1.

Here are the guidelines:

  • All applicants are HIV positive.
  • All applicants are either currently or going to be enrolled as a full-time student in an institution of higher education for at least two consecutive years.
  • All applicants must have an unweighted GPA of 2.5.
  • Preference will be given to those who are in financial need.
  • All applicants have the option to make their name public or not if they’re awarded a scholarship.
