Innovation Countdown 2030 is a PATH-led initiative to identify and showcase technologies and interventions that may accelerate progress toward solving the world’s most urgent health issues. Identified through a survey that is open until October 10th 2014, the innovations will be highlighted in a major report to be released in 2015.
During the United Nations General Assembly, PATH is launching the www.IC2030.org website and #ic2030 hashtag as well as a print publication, Innovation Matters, both of which feature articles from global leaders that explore the critical role innovation can play in accelerating solutions to the world’s most urgent health challenges. Authors include Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations; Seth Berkeley, CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; Anthony Fauci, Director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; Rajiv Shah, Administrator of the US Agency for International Development; Agnes Binagwaho, Minister of Health of Rwanda, and other thought leaders in the field.
By engaging entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, and experts across sectors and around the world, the Innovation Countdown 2030 initiative aims to accelerate high-potential innovations, catalyzing investment and increasing awareness of and support for transformative ideas to improve health and save lives. The initiative is funded by the Government of Norway.
