The Federal Plenary welcomed House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. The Congresswoman came to DC to fight AIDS and she is a long term friend of the movement. During the plenary, she received the Elizabeth Taylor Legacy Award from the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. In addition, we heard from Dr. Tony Fauci on how ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic is an unachievable goal. Finally, Douglas Brooks, head of the White House Office on National AIDS Policy discussed the 2015 review and update of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy.
