Erina Gashi is 13 years old and in her 9th grade at Mitrush Kuteli School in Pristina. Since her school received a kit of technology equipment from USAID’s Basic Education Program (BEP) 4 years ago, she has developed a keen interest in computer programming.
Using the Alice programming application she developed animated movies with her colleagues and won first prize in BEP’s annual Junior Oscars film competition with her short film, “Shoqeria e keqe” (Bad Company). She has also worked in teams on BEP’s “Design Challenge” competition and won a place at the annual BEP robotics camp. In 2015, she was selected as an assistant instructor helping younger students to assemble and program Lego robots.
