June 1, 2016 – Girls and young women account for 71 percent of new HIV infections among adolescents in sub-Saharan Africa. What puts them at greater risk for HIV infection, and how can we meaningfully address these factors? How can we scale up access to HIV prevention and treatment when gender inequality continues to limit sexual and reproductive health and rights for women and girls?
